Help Me choosing the Best Plan

Posted: 06 Mar 2011 01:54 AM PST

Yes, one modem will do. But every time you change the telephone cable (RJ11) to the DSL port of modem for new connection, you need to log in to the modem using 192.168.1.1 and change the ID and password. You will 20 % off on both rental and usage if both connections are in your father's name. If you do not want to make calls from your land line, you can choose Unlimited 750 Combo and Home Combo 500 or Home Combo 600. The later has free calls 175 and 250 respectively.

I find Apple Fanboys to be more tolerable than others. Fandroids are mostly geeks who will talk about some obscure phone GPU/CPU speed and do everything to defend their Android phone. No insult meant to those people. But I have some friends who have gone to great lengths to prove that their phone is superior to iPhone. All I do is just smile and laugh maniacally inside me :)

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: 23rd Match, Group A - Canada v Kenya

Match for the 6th/7th spot in Group A - Based on current form its Canada I vote for - Though Kenya may be charged up as they might see this as their only opportunity at a win in this cup

Apart from that, post 3 GB usage, a flat rat of 5 paisa / 10 KB will be charged (earlier it was double). That's really good news guys! :hysterical::hysterical:

good .. so finally you got both the scheme you want .. lik 3g and good gprs plan ...

the problem with vodafone is that they don't make plan in public .. they will spend time how zozo is flying and how he saves life .. now .. zozo is powerful than spider man .. super man and rajanikant ...

i feel they need to advertise these plans to make sure every one is aware of the same .. even there site sucks ...

High Pings to US

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:06 PM PST

It seems that there is some problem in North Bangalore area. There is road digging work going on for new flyover to airport at NH7 (bellary rd), and this has led to disruption of even basic telephone services for BSNL.

Anyone from north bangalore could confirm if they face the same issue?

Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta Updates

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 07:57 PM PST

Ok........your link is working !

But i already downloaded it from here in the morning and now working on FF 4.0 only.

Here is the link - Mozilla_Firefox_4.0_RC1

Here is SS -

---------- Post added at 09:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 AM ----------

Here is a caution for all those who are looking to download this RC version - All of your adddons not compatible to FF 4.0 won't work with this build even if they used to work with 4.0 beta builds, despite having addons like Nightly Tester tools and Comapatibilty Reporter addons. Thats what is my observation.

But finally able to find a way out, if someone else is also facing the problem I can post the solution here with SS.

Picture quality, Interface, processing speed overall look etc.

I took a just from Tata Sky Plus to Tata Sky Plus HD ....in your case the difference is Plus

The main features of plus are documented in this thread ....to summarize

1) One more additional wire will come from your dish to the box
2) you will be able to record the shows even when your stb is offline
3) Hard disk space is 500 Gb = 625 hours of SD content (HD will be around 300 hours)
4) You can watch the recorded programmes anytime you want - they will be there in your hard disk till the time you delete them
5) while watching live tv - you can pause the match , rewind the match , forward the match (in case you have buffered it ...to the point you come to the live match)

Anything else you wanted to know in particular ?

Tata Docomo.... poor network with great offers.... with poor CC executives ....

TIA

Option accessible when when you are not connected to the network, so click on the 'Disconnect' button and ideally that option should be available.

Now that this thread is alive again, any more comments on Speeds of EVDO connections like Tata Photon+ & Reliance Netconnect are going further down.
My personal experience is very bad, in spite of staying pretty close to TATA EVDO enabled tower and reporting ~300 to 350+ kBps speeds earlier when the service was launched now the speeds barely touch ~200 kBps at good times using DOWNLOAD MANAGERS only which is still fine but otherwise browsing experience and latency is not good at all + occasionally in spite of being in HSPA mode i still get very bad speeds as if there is a downtime :(

BIS with 3G : Need Review

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 04:14 PM PST

Yes. 3G is not covered in 362 plan. and also 2G plans can not be activated on 3G sim. at least in my circle. i have confirmed it with CC. I have recharged mine with 991. :(
Yes Push Mail and othe BIS related apps works fine. Only issue is you can not tether the connection to PC. if you do you will get charged. but as far as you access or download anything on Phone. it wont. coz tht uses BIS connection and not direct TCP connection.

since i am using it for occasional surfing on a laptop and mobile, it's not a problem for me. but if you like to leave your downloads

unattended overnight, it can become a major hassle.

On some websites the homepage is auto-refreshed every few minutes. I keep cnbc.com and moneycontrol.com open in my browser all the time and they refresh every 10 minutes. That is sufficient to keep the connection active because inactive connections are auto-disconnected.

You can download the free version of pingplotter and use it to ping any site (say google.com) every 30 seconds and that also does thee trick by keeping the connection active.

As far as download speed is concerned, it is very good where full signal is available. Where signal is not proper, download speed is bad. That is my experience in last few weeks of using Rs 4500 for 6 months unlimited plan.

Airtel 3G launch in Delhi NCR

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 12:17 PM PST

One major disappointment is this:

Quote:

Free data usage available in 3G data pack not applicable while roaming. Browsing charges of 30p/20KB will apply.
I don't know if other operators are doing the same but this sucks. Hopefully this won't come to 2G too.

Sharing 3G USB modem with LAN

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 09:54 AM PST

Hi!

Have been using wimax reliance connection for my office which has around 3-4 hours of downtime per week as well as it is a little more expensive (Around Rs. 2500 per month). Unfortunately, Airtel broadband is not available in my area due to some local dispute.

As 3G has arrived, i was thinking of in the line of purchasing an Airtel 3G USB modem and sharing it with the existing network through a 3G router like this one.

Will it work? Anyone has tried to share his 3G USB modem with LAN / WAN?

Any proven/tested suggestion will be heartily appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Vivek

3G can never replace wired BB......you are talking about MTNL.
I am personally on BSNL 2500 3 months plan(withdrawn now)...and i can say i have tough time.

After every 28MB or sometimes 56MB the connections goes dormant,no downloads only the upload counter ticks a little.
Only at night after 11pm i get good speeds but not more than 800-1000Kbps and occasionally 200Kbps. Then also the line dropping problem remains but at higher MB's.

Offtopic sort of.. whats this critical mass thing that cyclists do? Arent they halting traffic on purpose? I am no way supporting that car-dude.My question is different here. I read that they do this every last friday of month.Whats their purpose ? Once or twice its fine to get the authorities to take notice, also once a year is also fine but every month ?

I think in india critical mass happens on daily basis no cyclists required to block the damn roads.

Different GPRS Tariffs for estick and mobile phone

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 05:58 AM PST

Hi friends ! i have docomo sim activated for 3G and recharged with Rs 90/200 Mb pack valid for 1 month. After using it for month i was getting d/s of 1MB/s . when i used without any pack they charged me for 110 Rs for surfing on 3G.then also i was getting decent speed. when i recharged for 15 Rs/500 MB 2G pack, i am getting speed of 200KB/s . when i called CC for the reason for the low speed. they told me that there is seprate tariff for Estick and mobile phone. is it so or they are fooling me.your valuable comments are much appreciated. thanks. P.S. i was looking for a loophole in their system like BSNL 3G using UMTS mode. It is working but not getting speed of 3G but better than EDGE.
