Apple software copy will be on USB stick in future?

I just brought a macbook air and as it doesn't have an optical drive, the application software came in a USB stick. I feel this is the beginning of the death of the optical drives. I guess apple will provide USB sticks with all future machines and OSes. What do you guys feel? Here's the image of the USB stick apple provided.

I have a Gateway Laptop MT series...I think my hardware may be failing, it freezes up horribly...to the point I have to do a hard shutdown and restart, sometimes it will allow me to browse, than out the blue, it freezes...It also checks asks to check my disk drives which always turns out ok...Help please..

I am guessing that Mac OSX 10.7 will dig up shipped on DVD but will the upcoming OSX be on Blu-ray or will Mac dispose of the visual drives in the future and preinstall the OSX software in the future. I am running a Windows XP operating system on my machine and I have played facebook games many time via Internet Explorer 8 on my machine. I am trying to send images via msn Windows live. I got a error for updating the Active X control. If I click on the upload button to send the message message nothing happens. There is no controls shown. I cannot do anything to send my pictures. I had already formatted my pc before 15 days due to virus issue.
