my own experience with airtel here in gurgaon has been disappointing. i get worse network coverage compared to both tata indicom and aircel!

Corruption happens mainly due to bureaucrats although politicians are not very clean themselves. Unfortunately the bureaucrats are overlooked in every scam. If you want people to stop people from voting for congress please tell us a viable alternative. The only viable alternative in my opinion is bjp and it is not substantially better than congress. I believe bjp is good at the state level and congress at the centre. If only manmohan singh had majority this government could have been a lot better.

Thanks, sadly my City doesn't figure there but I visited a Reliance showroom in my City & they do offer Wireless internet here.

No Adtv will not be the first one because 2 years before a pune ICC digital cable network has already added 2-3 HD channel in their network . even before any HD channel was launched in india they use to buy the content for HD from abroad

NHK World at 801 is a test HD channel which was added on 1 may 2010 but till now no change has happen to it.

generally they provide 10 to 12 channels in a freq but NHK world is only channel in that freq .
normally 12 SD can be compressed in a freq but only 4 HD channels can be compressed in a freq so that may the reason they have not added any other channel with it . i think they want to keep 1 freq for HD channels

Actually, the original product of GTPL is cable channel. It is indulged in cable network from starting. So, it always wants to be competition with DTH. Fast growing in gujarat.

I have taken its internet but at some instant it is satisfactory. There is no downtime but I face some slow speed issue with my 256kbps plan. I normally get various from ranging 5-22kbps. Sometimes it goes upto 30-32kbps with some selected sites.

How to use fivenet in ubuntu linux?!?

fivenet cant be the name of your provider. it would be something like ssvfivenet.

To check, go to windows check the properties of your dialer. In 'General" it will show you service name.. write/copy it like that. Small/large, as it is. That will be your name.

If not that then in linux you can use following command to find out available services on the broadband.

#sudo pppoe-discovery

or you can just call your service provider. that ssv people for it ;)

I think u wer using the Wireless Internet from Reliance. So if you are looking out for wireless. Buy an Unlocked 3G Gsm Data Card and Take a MTNL connection Unlimited Which comes for you around 750 INR.
A 3G Data Card would cost u from 1800-2500, Huawei E122 is The best one now.

I have been using Yahoo mobile on my Nokia N95 through Vodafone Prepaid from last 1 year.
Since 3 days back I am not able to access Yahoo Mobile with my phone's inbuilt browser, when I go to Yahoo mobile, I get 'Server hangup' message. Yahoo Mobile is accessible howvever with Opera Mini.
I wanted to know if anybody using Yahoo Mobile on Nokia/Vodafone and facing any issue.

Add the IP of your modem on that PPPoE settings page. Mostly by default it is, 192.168.1.1 (the IP of the modem you have attached to the router)
Enter your User ID and Password in that page. The orange colour on the 'Earth' symbol will turn green.
