Posted: 06 Feb 2011 01:58 AM PST I just received a SMS from Airtel. "Dear Customer, you have reached 80% of your FUP quota. When you cross 100%, your speed will be reduced as per your plan till your next bill cycle ." <facepalm> According to the website, I have used 17 GB, & the next billing cycle starts on the 25th of this month..... |

Fivenet New Diwali Plan Rs. 5,999 for 1 Year, Upto 10 Mbps speed Posted: 06 Feb 2011 01:12 AM PST Those are horrible pings. As of this minute, from here in NZ I get about 270 to NYC and about 350 to London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. My worst pings are to parts of the Middle East and parts of Western Africa (but I'm not exactly surprised). By "Catfire", I'm guessing that's a mispronunciation of "Cat 5". Different cable probably won't make too much of a difference unless you're also seeing a lot of packet loss. |

Since then, this has been happening every day. I have tried the following: i. Disabled "Display status message for this connection" in control panel, network connections.Nothing seems to work. I shall really be grateful for any help in the matter. THANKING ALL, -Sindhia :pleasehelp: |

Vodafone Mumbai - 2GB GPRS plan available for POSTPAID customers? Posted: 05 Feb 2011 11:08 PM PST If they do that write to the Nodal office to clarify in writing the reason they are giving. They have a habit of calling you as they claim its faster (which is right to an extent) but I think the main reason is its easier for them (time & energy wise) AND also they can talk any crap when its not in writing. |

ADSL Link goes off during weekends! Posted: 05 Feb 2011 10:43 PM PST Folks, I have a little funny situation. Since 1st Jan 2011, my ADSL link goes off during weekends (Friday/Saturday night). Every time I complain, they send somebody to home and just before that guy come (on Monday/Tuesday)...the link is up!! The BSNL guy says, there may be some problem at the exchange end, but not revealing more than that. This Sunday also, I'm w/o broadband...and typing this using BSNL dial-up:( Btw. I'm on UL750+ 512kbps plan and my modem UTStarcom (Black) is doing OK when link is up and stable. I use approx 5-7GB/m. Any clue, how do to diagnose this issue from my-end? Thanks! |

BSNL Broadband Home 1000 Unlimited plan Posted: 05 Feb 2011 10:05 PM PST I am thinking of changing my plan either ULD 900 or Home 100 UL ... my 2-3 months usage has been well below 7-8 GB as i dont get free time to spend on internet as well i dont keep downloading everything ...i hope to get the promised speeds from BSNl Different people use internet differently ... so they will rather think of themself of which BB plan suits them. Some keep downloading 24*7 and some are not that lucky. |

Subramanian swamy and corruption exposure Posted: 05 Feb 2011 12:57 PM PST They work at the grassroot level. By understanding the system they created we realize the stark contrast to what is being said in the media. The free television scheme and the 500 per household scheme were described as bribery and despised by competition and media alike but it worked wonders for the votebank. And this works very well in rural or impoverished (read slum) areas. Similar plans are (or were) adopted by the SS in Maharastra during the 80s and 90s when it was considered the original marathi manoos party. Mr swami is a funny fellow. He comes on news programmes and says the media is ignoring him. Then he spews rubbish about how hes being maligned and how only he knows the truth. But since there is a conspiracy he cant do anything. What a schizo. |

Airtel Broadband problem with the BSNL modem WA3002G4 Posted: 05 Feb 2011 10:27 AM PST I have opted for airtel broadband services in Jalandhar, Punjab. They asked me if you could arrange your own modem or buy i from us. I borrowed a BSNL WA 3002G4 from a friend of mine. Since the day I i have been facing a problem of frequent dis-connects after sometime, and i have to switch off the modem for a while to get it working up again( i.e. to get the link). I have complained about it too, firstly they told your line will be changed, then something other, and now they say the bsnl modem does not support the airtel broadband profile. Does any one know, whether these problems could be due to a BSNL modem. |

Airtel Broadband 1mbps FUPed plan for Rs. 999 Posted: 05 Feb 2011 09:31 AM PST hmm strange, i checked UP west tariff plans and check these> Impatience 1199(Airtel/UW/FL/012) Impatience UL 1299 -Commercial(Airtel/UW/FL/014) Both have same download speed> 2 Mbps till 20 GB, 256 kbps beyond 20 GB. and nothing uncommon! All details are same, then y the price differs??? Because of commercial? |

Few websites not opening with BSNL 3g Posted: 05 Feb 2011 06:06 AM PST This has occurred to me quite often.. The browser doesn't load the page as though there was a time out response.. Sites like Torrents Search Engine didnt load a few weeks back I had to use proxy software's like Ultrasurf, for sometime. But now the issue is resolved. 2 ways to solve this problem now. Use Mozilla firefox. "If u get Waiting for www.ursite.com" and the page doesnt display stuff even after repeated refresh/Stop and refresh, then save ur session and exit. Open firefox again and ur sites will work like a charm. Lots of sites that didnt open a couple weeks back are working now. Another issue is that of NAT technology that BSNL 3g uses that shares ip to many users.. |
