Just upgraded to FF4b10... its really FAST on my slow comp!

Gmail opened fast too.
Awesome bar response time is fast too.

Got rid of "Compact menu" addon as well as "Firefox sync" addon too, as those two functionality are now with FF4 itself.

All other addons are also compatible now..so no problem as of now.

@Samm If all else fails then waiting till Sept 2011(even though its a wrong date given by Vodafone) is the only option. About taking time to update may not be true in this case as its an erroneous date they have given in the first place for it to change, Vodafone will have to admit there's been an error.

Ramli thanks for posting the firmware update, i am still using the original firmware that my modem came with, does this new firmware helps in anything apart increasing the download speeds to 28.8 Mbps. As i have my modem hooked to the router and its working fine, have not faced any issues.

The problem was that Ganguly doubled his base price from 200000$ to 400000$

Now who wud take it... I thought Kochi may have wanted him but at lower price...they might have internal deal that officially it wud be $400000 but unofficially he wud be paid less. Ganguly wud be happy that he finally got in the IPL and Kochi wud be happy that they got him at lower price.

"The Book of Eli" was the one of the most disappointing movies for me along with "The American". Although am a big fan of biblical characters and philosophy but this movie did not make any sense at all. Slow and dragging throughout, Mila Kunis is wasted and so is Denzel Washington, this movie ended up neither being a christian movie nor an entertaining movie.

Watched the movie unstoppable after a recommendation here, and it was indeed good. Tony Scott did well after the disappointment of "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3", and this movie had many similarities too pelham movie.

Everybody is facing this problem
Webpages aren't loading reliably. They require atleast 3-4 reloads to load.
However, torrents are fast, upto 2 Mbps.

Dunno whats wrong. Packets are dropped upto 80% past the VSNL server at Mumbai.

It clearly states that there is a cap of 200GB, but, it could be waived off as it's a promotional offer and it's MTNL so hopefully it won't be hecked up like Airtel.

@Kronit- It completely depends on you location and such factors. You can visit the nearest hut to get a demo I guess.

1.> to check 3g facilities of ur area buy insert any sim (2g or 3g) in a 3g handset.. and do a manual search o n/w in dual/umts only mode... it will list down the avlbl 3g n/ws.... manualy selsct that and chek the signal strngh... better it better spd...

2.>for buying a mdem dnt buy any mdem from bsnl itself.. they r locked to them only.. u cant use it with other sims(unless u want the hassle to unlock it)

3.>two options to buy : a. localy relnc 3g usb modems.... fully unlocked.... 7.2 mbps down.. 5.76 up... 2600 rs official price...

b. u want to buy from onln?? ... go to ebay.in//// buy umg 1831... 21 mbps dwn.. 5.76 up.... price 2800-2900...
both relnc modem(huawei e173) and umg 1831 are fully unlockd to any sim(2g and 3g)...

Downtime, worst customer support, everything delayed. Expect all such things that comes up in your mind and then go for it :D Risk tou lena padega boss, there is just one thing you can rely upon when going for MTNL and that is LUCK :thumbsup:

Thanks for the info. I dont have any experience in taking a new BB connection.

I got BSNL at home in AP 7 years back, never changed it and it works fine der.

Twice applied for airtel in NCR & BLR, didnt need to check for service or anything, direct installation.

Now I need to check and analyse these new operators.

Pity that the BB access will never be the same

There were also rare occasions when the Data Rate went down to something like 1780 or something but generally it shows the full data rates, just bad noise.
Your Attenuation is way too high, it could indicate a line problem.(maybe beyond your house). When snr margins go below 10 you will get DC's

I used to reside at Sion and I've been using Fivenet from past 1 Year and the DC++ Download speed was awesome but now I have recently shifted to Kopar Kharaine and the speed sucks big time, it never goes above 200 Kbps.

I tried Contacting the ISPs but they did not provide any help stating that, "There is nothing that we can do to help you".

BTW the provider of Fivenet connection for me is SSV Technologies....

Will this issue be resolved, if not then I'll be left with the choice of disconnecting services from you.

So I called the local exchange and the guy there asked me to call 12678 and when I did that they werent even aware of any changes. Then they said since there is some cable fault that they are not sure if its implementable etc. I only asked them to update the plans on their end, for which the same answer was given.

I have tried creating FTP server (filezilla) .Server is running fine.port forwarded port 80 .I got a domain on no-ip.org..if i try accessing from outside through internet i directed to modem .I see no option for DYNAMIC DNS in modem.how do achieve it in my modem. Help pls..

hmm. could be. from what i remember you just need icici bank site to send or receive funds for trading. if you already have funds in your direct account, you might not need your bank account at all. and of course, not everyone using icici direct would have a bank account with icici :| and then icici might be having issues with just the front-end... they would still have the backend functional. blah. too many assumptions. i need to shut up now.

I'm switching from my airtel connection to Hathaway due to cheaper plans but i need help i own a BEETEL 450TC1 ADSL2+ ROUTER but the people from hathaway told me that they use cable with big pin on it which can't be put into my existing router
So I wanna know is there anything available in the market like some adapter or something which makes it fit into my existing router??
or can I do anything else beside buying a new router?

I seriously doubt if reliance has, say 10 lakh NetConnect Broadband + users, even 50,000 would be getting a 2 mbps speed on avg.

Its the same problem with all these EVDO providers that they advertise so heavily that even in a villages where there are only 3-4 operators BTS (2G GSM/CDMA 1X ), there too people are carrying so many data cards. I have seen people using 1000-1500 rs./ month for a download rate of 13-19 KBps thinking their device is 3.1 mbps.

Hardly 30-40% users among these data cards would be having any idea, what an EVDO is !

MTNL Broadband Plan Change Questions and Answers

I have just got my plan changed from the DSL_COMBO_495 (320 kbps U/L) to DSL_749 (752 kbps U/L).
Took about 4 days of chasing the guys to finally get the speed changed (although plan was changed promptly). I'm not too far from the exchange (max 1 km), and have been getting 320 kbps on the 320 kbps plan (100%). I know TRAI has imposed a 80% limitation, but I'm just achieving about 630 kbps of download speed only on this plan. Anyone else facing the same issue?

yup already found that .. might be possible through 1 extra NIC on PC but again you have to keep that On
