Even i'm also using Reliance WiMax connection from last 2.5 yrs & i never faced any big issue or downtime. I have faced downtime but only for some time not for some day.
I have 7 Reliance WiMax Connection with static IP & all works great.
& for MTNL i have that too as a secondary connection, ya its good but upload sucks in MTNL.

Some of the information in that post is wrong -

2mbit/s are gone and 5mbit/s probably will be too. 150mbit/s has been added as the top tier. Businesses can already avail up to 1Gbit/s. 1Gbit/s is also the default speed within the network, so you are only limited to your plan speed once the information leaves our network.

Also, consumers no longer have to buy data in specific amounts, they can buy as little as 1GB or as much as 1000 and pay the same price, which I'm now expecting will be Rs10/GB including tax. It's still valid for up to 1 year. Alternatively, they can buy a data plan and set a bill limit so that they only use what they pay for - so if your bill limit is Rs2000 and you only use 50GB then you'll only pay Rs1000 or so.

Also, change the word unlimited to "flat-rate" - I feel it's more accurate.

Problem with 2799 is 50 GB cap... 1350 is unlimited, just the speed is FUPed down to 512k after 20 GB :)

I spoke to marketing dept. of Movies now office in Mumbai and they told me that all DTH companies will get this channel by end of Feb'11 or early March'11. They also said the delay is not because of any DTH companies.

Yeah....that can be an option - saving as text files or so.

Apps in Nokia for saving messages - well it will be a Treasure hunt now. But thats the only option left, i need my messages also & also i want to migrate to Android.....

I will try to get some File Managers may be, which show me the Mailbox, and i can actually copy all messages to somewhere on Memory card.

or may be, i can even do another thing - the PC Suite app allows me to read messages. may be i can Copy the content that way - copying around 4k messages!! But these are the only ways i can see right now!!

Videocon D2H HD launching within 7days

so today is the 7th day (from 27th jan), but no news of launching HD.
i know d2h promised ud to show commonwealth games in HD, but failed.
now this time d2h will be looosing too much if they fail.

what the hell it takes to launch hd. as of now i think all dth operators have hd transmission, but for videocon it has become "birbal ki khichdi".

Selfcare portal gives "User authentication failed" message

Hello

When I try to log into selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in portal to check my broadband usage, I get the abovementioned error.

I am entering the same username/password which I have used earlier to successfully log into the portal and check usage. Should I reset my password (knowing that it can cause further problems!), or is this error common around the first of every month?

i am facing a lot of problems with this like freezing system, poor signal strength, no option for 3G only.
so i want to install mobile partner in it.
i hv already downloaded mobile partner software.
i m using windows 7, 64 bit OS.

( to check error in "Dialer" PPP mode ) suggest

I am a super saver pack customer (old packs) and have Marathi pack and Cosmo free trial pack as add on packs. Strangely, while browsing all the channels on Tata Sky today morning, I noticed that Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and 24 Ghanta (Bangla) have been coming live on my screen even though I have not subscribed them. Have the same been made free to super saver customers? or some testing is being carried out today morning by Tata Sky authorities?

Are you guys also getting these channels live on your screen?

I live in Aundh area of Pune and use UMG1831 for connecting to 3G network. In MDMA it shows me Assigned profile(Negotiated QoS) as 2048kbps uplink and downlink.
Does this mean that the speeds are capped to 2 Mbps ??? :ishock:

Please let me know where to complain regarding this ?

ya that was on my PC which in a room with closed doors and windows... thats why so low signals.... dont have a laptop.... and the same sim card doesnt register in UMTS mode on Nokia 7230... so pretty impossible to say how much speed i cud have got in a much open space...

apparently not. this has happened before too. but nothing as stupid.

people have lost their flickr accounts based on flickr's own moderation features.

some users were lucky that their accounts were just suspended and not deleted.

in this case, the account was simply deleted!

hehe ok.

check-in is a stupid concept that has become very popular. the idea is... you visit this place. you check-in on any of the apps (foursquare, gowalla, scvngr, facebook places and now google latitude).

this would share your location with your friends on that network. they get to see where you are at that particular moment. and if they are nearby, you two can coordinate for a meet. something like that.

this is the actual concept behind the idea of check-ins. however, it has turned into a game now. foursquare would make you the virtual mayor of the place if you check-in more than others. latitude is using terms like VIP and GURU (what the f!).

If I am not mistaken Zee DTH does provide Playboy. I had received emails from DishTV on the same maybe 2 years back. That channel alone was to be charged at approximately 4K per year, annual package.

Gadmei TV kit (External TV tuner) -- DVD in & Co-axial cable in with VGA Out also Audio out
Sansung TFT monitor -- VGA in
Videocon D2H with DVD and USB support -- DVD Out

The DVD out from Videocon D2H is connected to DVD in of Gadmei TV kit
&
The VGA out of Gadmei TV kit is connected to Samsung TFT.

Have to attach separate speakers to Audio out on Gadmei TV kit

Works perfectly fine.

BSNL hopes to benefit from MNP

State-owned mobile operator BSNL is gaining four customers for every customer lost due to the mobile number portability, according to BSNL chief general manager (AP Telecom Circle) Rajeev Agrawal.

Addressing the media here on Monday, he said so far 14,000 customers had expressed their intent to be part of the BSNL network while 4,000 BSNL customers were planning to move out. As many as 11,500 are porting in already, he said adding BSNL hoped to benefit from the MNP due to its low tariff and wider network. Most of them coming to BSNL are prepaid customers.
BSNL is offering free SIM to customers coming in through MNP along with an additional talk value of Rs 100 and 5 GB GPRS download. It has also waived porting in charges of Rs 19. The company added 3,50,000 customers in January alone, he said, adding the number would increase in the days to come with the MNP. It is also confident of adding new landlines customers through its new schemes - Bandham and Nestham. The first one allows customers to make unlimited free calls to his landline while the second allows friends and family members registered to call at 10 paise per minute, he said.
The AP Telecom circle is making efforts to improve the coverage by installing additional base transceiver stations among others, he said.

That's not an accurate value. Sometimes Speedtest.net gives out a higher speed than the plan itself, rest assured I only got 512 kbps on that plan. :)

1. what is the best way to do this .
2 i have pc i and i have heard that if i go for internal tv tuner card its a headache and not sure whether it has av rca input ??
3 i saw a external tv tuner card but it does not have rca a/v input , the store guy showed a cable saying i can connect rca to s- video as it had a s-video input , is it possible??

Hello everyone.I'm from Mumbai and currently using a MTNL internet connection with a speed of 320 Kbps.
I've heard that Fivenet provides LAN services,specifically DC++ hubs which enable people to share all kinds of data from
songs to movies etc.What I need to know is

1)How to get a Fivenet connection in Mulund,Mumbai?I mean,whats the procedure for it?

2)What are the installation and other charges and various plans for a Fivenet Connection?

3)Is DC++ free in the plan and the plan what we subscribe for is the Internet usage plan?

4)Is it necessary to have a plan of unlimited bandwidth to download continuously from DC++ or
even a limited bandwidth plan is sufficient? Specifically,is the usage of DC counted in the bandwidth [for a limited net plan]?

I know the worldspace service is not available in India. I would be sending the receiver to Mauritius to receive the afristar east beam which still has some good free to air channels. You are from Bangalore and this east beam of afristar satellite is also receivable from your place. When i was in Bangalore in 2004 i used to receive signal from this satellite but the signal was weak. Right now i am in pune and from here also that beam is easily receivable. I am searching for a receiver which has inbuilt speakers. It will be good if i get the first receiver from BPL. That was bpl Celeste with cassette player and AM,Fm and SW radio. Thanks

Hi folks I am trying to buy my first 3G phone my budget is nearly 13k,, And I have narrowed down some of the handsets and my favourite is Samsung Wave 533. But before that I want to hear out what other's think I need good 3G capability with the phone and some functions like WiFi,HSDPA+,GPS,Bluetooth (possibly 3.0) , Minimum 2 mega pixel , I listen to songs occasionaly , check my emails, like pretty much business + smartphone + stylish ( am I asking for tooooo much LOL :D)

Is it possible to share Beam Broadband with a Hub?

I need to provide internet sharing between two computers on Beam BB using Network Hub for a friend

- They have budget constraints so they cannot buy a wi-fi router

Specs

Two pc's --one running WinXP and the other is running Win7 ultimate . Both have 1 NIC

-Beam uses some sort of Web Based Login which is tied to your MAC address.
