Posted: 04 Nov 2010 02:14 AM PDT I got a Airtel HD STB and connection. I was asked to call up the CC and ask them to activate the Nat Geo HD (The only HD channel available now), which I was supposed to get for free since am already using the Ultra Pack, that I got with my Samsung LCD TV. However, the CC guy was absolutely naive and kept on saying the I need to pay Rs 16.55/- per month for the Nat Geo HD service to get activated. I need to know whether there is any per month extra fee for Nat Geo HD channel. Information in this regard will be very helpful. Moreover, I have seen Tata Sky transmissions in 26" and 32" Samsung LCD TV and they seem to be better than the Airtel HD connection which I presently have (Am using a 26" Samsung 480 series LCD TV). Do I need to extensively tweak with my TV and Airtel DTH settings to get the optimum quality? Am getting a signal strength of 190-191 with a signal quality of 100%. What's going wrong? |

Posted: 04 Nov 2010 01:37 AM PDT Emil totally agree with you!! No matter how much misleading it appears, in the end, its a package that suffices my needs perfectly - except for 2 channels - Ten Cricket & Discovery Science...... Agree, that its a wrong claim, but still, they are offering most of the channels that should be available!! |
reliance Big TV logo needs to undergo changes Posted: 04 Nov 2010 01:34 AM PDT Emil, So, is it that you have had some good experience with Reliance as well?? Coz, for a change, i faced some good service in the Broadband services from them!! Otherwise even their CC is pathetic aat times - you have to literally abuse them to visit your residence!! And about Big TV, i was surprised to know that you also tried out what i did!! :) |

reliance huawei ec1260 modem installation problem in win vista Posted: 04 Nov 2010 12:34 AM PDT All you need to do is : (If the dialer software is already installed, please uninstall it and try the following) 1. Insert the data card (Huawei EC 1260) into the USB port and allow the drive to get detected. Open the drive from My Computer. 2. Right click on the Autorun.exe and set it up to run on compatability mode with Windows XP. (Rt Click on the file and go to>Properties>Compatability tab>Compatability mode) 3. Similarly, set all the other .exe files on Windows XP compatability mode. There is one 'setup.exe' file inside the folder 'Reliance Netconnect'. Set that up too on compatability mode. 4. Remove the drive appropriately. Restart the system and put the device back into the USB port. 5. If the installation does not begin automatically, run the Autorun.exe file manually and allow the software to get installed. This time when you open the dialer, it will detect the network. All the best !!!! |
Airtel IPTV Ownership Experience Posted: 03 Nov 2010 11:44 PM PDT Kumar @ I am really not sure at what stage of IPTV did you have the connection.....but as of now, I do not have much complaint about the quality, majority of channels, which I do watch are of fairly good quality... some as good as TS. and more importantly, Time Shift works out best for me, which I personally think is a new frontier in TV viewing. IPTV is great for me, concern was on transmission loss due to improper cabling that might not do justice to your TV viewing. Nonetheless, as yo said, IPTV still has a long way to go where it can beat any other transmission, be it in terms of quality or value added features, which I believe no other technology can provide the way IPTV can. |
