Petition On Customer Care in India! Posted: 03 Nov 2010 01:34 AM PDT I agree totally. Thank you for bringing this up. I hope more people will agree and this will become a big enough issue that something is done about it. I despise calling the customer care of any company, for any service. Personally, I can say Vodafone, Tata Sky, Virgin Mobile, Airtel, ICICI, MTNL, ING Vysya all suck. Firstly, its impossible to get hold of a human. They all use IVRs which is a really good idea for streamlining customer service calls, except nobody knows how to implement it. If all the options were listed in the automatic system, atleast we'd get somewhere. But theres only a few items listed and if you have any other problem/question, then its upto you to find a human through the maze of numbers. Also, regardless of which language you choose, the human always talks in Hindi nowadays. Secondly, they all have these set dialogues which are extremely irritating. I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about. No personal touch. Coupled with a very degrading attitude, as if the customer is a dumbass and they are the enlightened ones with the great ability to wrongly diagnose your problem and make you follow some crappy instructions written on their screen so that you can achieve something you didn't ask for and possible have no use for. Anything that requires a little more thinking than that means a 10 minute hold during which all the monkeys probably get together and discuss in great detail whether to make you wait 24 hours before clicking their mouse a bunch of times and fixing your problem, or the more enjoyable 48 hours. Ofcourse, instant fixes are out of the question, how could we even begin to think they are possible? Shame on us customers for being so callous. Then ofcourse, at the end of the call, they must inform you that there has never been and there never will be a more valuable customer than you, and to show their undying love they would like to offer you a postpaid connection!! Because ofcourse, anyone who has even a little bit of dignity needs at least 27 cellphone numbers in todays fast paced life. One thing I noted while calling Hutch was that earlier, I always used to hope a guy picked up the phone because invariably, women for some reason were more confused and took longer to understand my problem and present a viable solution (not to be sexist, just an observation heh). However, now I always hope a woman picks up as they are more helpful versus a guy, who's attitude is always that the customer is the definition of stupid, and we called them right in between the biggest most important meeting of their life and we deserve to rot in hell for disturbing them. This is no exaggeration, they really do think we're dumb and theres no hope for us. Screw the jackasses! I've just learned to live with my problems instead of calling the customer care (or better yet, make someone else call) Atleast the customer care calls are still toll-free, surprisingly. The customer care scene definitely needs to change, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. One can only hope for the best. I wonder how these dumbasses feel when they're calling a customer care number themselves from home for their own problems. I hope they're tormented as well. Once again, one can only hope. |

How to configure DNA-A211-1 wireless modem on MTNL broadband network? Posted: 03 Nov 2010 12:54 AM PDT I have the BSNL broadband wireless modem, make: ITI, model: DNA-A211-1, which was functional in BSNL network area. Now I have moved in to Mumbai and the modem won't work with MTNL phone. Could anybody give me the step by step guidance to change the inbuilt configuration set for BSNL network so that I could use the wireless modem for MTNL broadband network? |
