Big TV logo needs to undergo changes

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 02:42 AM PDT

Logos should be small it should be transparent. Many other dth have gone through a remake of their Logo. A Big visible Logo that too which has Red and Dark Blue causes interruption in viewing also sometimes you may miss out on important details, If you watch Bloomberg then you already know what I am talking about. The headers of graphs are covered by the Logo and you may also happen to miss out on some statistics coming up in that corner. They should remake their Logo and it should be small and transparent.

Best DLNA Software for streaming to Sony TV

Posted: 27 Oct 2010 01:30 AM PDT

Okay guys .. Found the answer :) .. Just tried Mezzmo

Got amazing results. All my files were streamed directly to TV without any problems. It has inbuilt transcoder , so the file formats not supported on the TV (like MKV, DIVx etc ) were also played. The quality was just amazing and transcoding was superfast with no jerks in watching, reversing or forwarding the movie. The Music files also played pretty good and could hear every beat :)

I have been using Tversity for over a year now, but seems like its time to say goodbye to it. The biggest problem with Tversity was while transcoding some file types (particularly MKV), the movie used to halt for 4-5 seconds in between after every 15 mins or so and reversing was not possible at all for these file types. Forwarding would also sometimes hang the entire playback and I would have to restart my PC and xbox to get the movie play again. Sometimes I had to watch the movie from the beginning as forwarding was not possible with MKV.

All these issues are not there in Mezzmo. I could rewind, fast forward with easy for all file types and the quality is at par sometimes better than Tversity. Mezzmo also supports various other TVs, DVD players and gaming consoles (Xbox, PS3) which are DLNA compliant, so it looks like a pretty good choice to me. The only problem I faced with it is sometimes the playback does not continues from where I stopped the movie last time, guess I need to fiddle with the settings and I'm sure this will not be an issue.

For now, Im shutting down the Tversity server and Hello Mezzmo :)

Broadband Help!

1.Unlimited download
2.Supports all devices
3.Portable (i.e) can use at home with desktop and carry with me as well to use with laptop.Kind of like a USB dongle But with Wifi.
4.Not too expensive like an unlimited plan at a max of 1200-1500 per month.
5.Need good coverage...(especially in Mumbai).
can you guys help me!

1. Pretty much the only ISP that fulfills this criteria properly is MTNL. 512k for 599 or 1mbit/s for 999.
2. This isn't an issue with any broadband, so long as the devices can connect to the modem/router via a switch or separate wifi router.
3. This is not possible with criteria #1 at this time - the USB dongles (Reliance Netconnect+, Tata Photon+ and MTS) all use CDMA - Wifi is heavily regulated in India and given the coverage area, isn't really used as an access method for any ISPs. Fixed Wimax is, but then this also isn't really portable.
4. See #1. If you get one of the wireless plans, they just do not offer unlimited - the FUP is about 15GB for all services, as I recall - whether the FUP cuts you off completely or merely reduces the speed may depend on which service you choose (it'll be in the small print).
5. The wireless products from Reliance, Tata and MTS (as mentioned in #3) should be available pretty much everywhere in Mumbai.
