Airtel refusing to replace my modem's adapter.....!!!!! Posted: 10 Oct 2010 02:59 AM PDT @ Sushubh the website is crap those options don't work. Those options on my airtel show an old dead email that I had God knows when. I didn't get my e-bill or paper bills for 3 months because they sent e-bills to my old email account dead for 5 yrs or more and well they have my new email also. Its taken me at least 2-3 hrs to get the matter resolved and yet to see the refund on the late payment charges.
Hayai Broadband: How it all began! Posted: 10 Oct 2010 02:59 AM PDT Yes, I know he was talking abt per capita... but my point is he was considering 26 or 43 to be minor difference, forgetting that Indian population is way too large compared to Pakistan. And comparing Aus-NZ with Ind-Pak is just joke. India is poor country, so is Pakistan. Infact I wud say difference of 47000 and 30000 betn Aus-NZ is not much, considering NZ is so TINY when compared to Australia. Its as if its part of Australia itself.

Posted: 10 Oct 2010 02:50 AM PDT info. according to them, the need to finalize everything before new Year ---------- Post added at 03:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:14 PM ---------- In Kerala I don'y see any reason to move to other DTH, we are getting all grequired channels in Sun Direct, for a general customer/viewer. Areas other than Cities, it's difficult to get services like purchase/renew any other DTH other than Sun Direct and Dish Tv. I can see Sun Direct recharge centres in villages too. The second choice after SD is BIG tv which got 13 Malayalam channels, but it's not available in rural areas to purchase. I cannot compare Dish TV and SD, Dish Tv is not bad, but it got less Malayalam Channels and it's in MPEG2. But, areas other than India, yes..the availability is a problem. What to do...
Convert Airtel Broadband To Wifi Posted: 10 Oct 2010 02:42 AM PDT The new wireless routers are of N type, i.e. they use wireless N technology. The old routers were wireless G which are no longer manufactured but are still available in markets as old stock. N-type routers have better range and speed compared to wireless G type. Now every computer requires a wireless adaptor installed on it which lets it communicate with the wireless router. what you have to ensure that you buy a N-type router and a N-type adaptor for your computer/laptop (preferably of the same brand as they would have been tested together) essbebe mentioned about the cordless phone so you are able to check the reception in terms of distance ( router to computer ) most cordless also use same band 2.4ghz as common wireless routers. If you have weaker connectivity you may have to opt for 5ghz wireless router as 2.4 GHz will interfere with cordless phones and microwaves, but usually not noticeably. 5.0 GHz doesn't interfere as much ( also can go for dual a band router with both 2.4 and 5ghz which uses one of the 2 bands dependent on your settings or perhaps simultaneous dual band which uses both bands at the same time) I hope i have managed to confuse you a lot by now.... remember google is a much better friend than me:evil: ok now here is what you have to do to begin with read articles on wireless N technology, dual band technology, how to get best long range connectivity on wireless, check out websites of all major manufacturers you have another given to you now by essbebe "buffalo" but b4 you check out the models make sure u read about the technology articles so you understand more about the various products. happy reading:bowtoyou:
GLB-502T: LAN interface problems; USB interface working fine Posted: 10 Oct 2010 01:13 AM PDT I'm using MTNL Triband and I've a 3yr old D-link GLB-502T ADSL 2+ router. It has 5 LEDs on it's frontside [Power, ADSL, PPPoE, LAN, USB]. A very weird problem has been occuring since the last few days. Scenario 1: Connected the router via the LAN interface to the PC; the main line not connected: I can access the router's configuration page [192.168.1.1] and can make any changes. Out of the four lights, the Power and LAN LEDs remain ON. Scenario 2: Connected the main line to the router; LAN interface not connected: In this case, the Power, ADSL, PPPoE LEDs turn ON eventually. Thus, the line is working fine. Scenario 3: Connected the main line to the router and connected the router via the LAN interface to the PC: People who have used this router must be familiar with the way the LEDs turn ON. When you start the router, the LAN LED turns ON and OFF twice and finally remains ON. Then, the ADSL LED turns ON. Finally, just before the PPPoE LED turns ON, the ADSL LED blinks rapidly [Data transfer occurs on the WAN port]. Now, in my case, as soon as the PPPoE LED turns ON, the router restarts and the procedure repeats indefinitely. What is causing this problem? Is it the router's LAN port or the PC's LAN port? Scenario 4: Connected the router via the USB port and main line is connected too: Everything works fine. No problems here. So, can anyone please help me out with this? I just want to know why is this happening.

Plan change provisioned. But no speed change. Posted: 09 Oct 2010 09:43 PM PDT Hi, My plan is changed from upto 2Mbps(FN500 Combo) to 4Mbps(ULF900) plan. SNR values have changed. Old SNR Downstream was around 23 and new one is around 17. Even though new plan was provisioned, in Device Info was showing downstream rate is 2Mbps. Had to call exchange to upgrade the speed. Speed is varying a lot. Getting around 1Mbps most of the time. Had to call their bangalore internet centre office to show them the issue. They said everything is fine at their end and SNR for my IP address is shown as 25 in their system. I think becuase of line fault, i am getting lower & fluctuating speed. Speedtest.net shows ![]()
