Suggestions for improving BSNL 3G signals Posted: 08 Sep 2010 02:40 AM PDT Hello abhayshow, Please try the trick and post the results here.Just remember to point the USB modem fitted with USB extension cable towards the 3G tower. Interestingly my problem is opposite .I am getting 3G signals but when I turn on the 2G network ie GPRS/Edge mode the internet stops though I am getting 5 bars of signal for Edge/GPRS on the modem software !But I am unable to surf the internet. I wanted to test Edge signals also for internet in case I dont intend to carry on forward with 3G data usage .Even BSNL customer care was not able to help. Now that you have informed that everything was fine in the beginning and problems arose later on I am keeping my fingers crossed. |
BSNL 3G Network goes very poor after few months of Purchase Data Card. Posted: 08 Sep 2010 02:36 AM PDT Hello friends I have bought Micromax mmx300g datacard with 2g SIM before 3 months. At start my internet was running fine (Download speed abt. 34 kb/sec at UMTS Mode). I can see the "3G" and "H" icons. But from last 10-15 days it suddenly goes too slow. I can't see"3G" and "H" icons . When i select the UMTS Mode it mostly shows "no network" or "no service" like messages or very poor network (abt. 1 line of network). So I m unable to use UMTS mode to use the 3g like service. I can see network only when I select GPRS Mode, it shows full network antenna, but that is too slow (abt. 5-7 kb/sec):( . I don't know wat happened to me, bcs. at start it was working fine. And there is no benefit of calling BSNL's customer care as u all knows. BSNL customers have to depend on each other suggestions only, this is the only solution for us. :( Sorry  for my bad English Friends........... |
Posted: 08 Sep 2010 02:06 AM PDT Today's Schedule Arthur Ashe Stadium Monfils v/s Djokovic (around 12AM to 1AM IST) Generally Djokovic shud win but Monfils has come into form in recent matches, it remains to be seen if he can sustain that form. Federer v/s Soderling (around 5:30AM) Probably biggest match yet of the tournament, if Federer can pull it off, it wud be a BIG confidence boost for him. Federer has failed at QF at French and Wimbledon, Soderling will make him fight. |

Airtel Broadband Turbo 1299 speed upgraded? Fair usage policy? Posted: 08 Sep 2010 02:00 AM PDT I was bugged by Airtel-Bharti over the fair usage policy. End number of times I talked to CC & so called Retention depts. Sometimes they agreed for same speed & sometimes they downgraded to 256kbps(Due to FUP). I have written multiple mails to Nodal Officer for Delhi. I even tried calling their number. But there was no response/help/hope from the officer. In the end I disconnected Bharti Airtel & opted for MTNL connection. Believe me, for 999, I am getting 1.9 MB/ps for 24 hrs. The service has improved. The executives on customer care - 1504 also speaks gently to you. I am very happy for last 3 months with MTNL. |
Finally, got myself a Samsung Galaxy i9000! Posted: 08 Sep 2010 01:52 AM PDT Buddy, I found this video on youtube and my phone and package are similar! and hey it aint me doing the video :)! YouTube - Samsung I9000 Unboxing (india) ---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 PM ---------- Wow good to hear that you too got a Galaxy S Anuj! My battery lasts for a day of extreme use with calls for 1 hour, wifi on for 24 hrs and videos and 1 and 1/2 days incase of casual use making only phone calls and wifi turned on only when needed. Why dont you try some task killers and kill most/all tasks running in the background buddy? Ya i too tried connecting the wiimote with 3 apps from the market but no use... As for rooting, I found this great article. Check it out.. http://gpsmaestro.com/5-good-reasons...android-phone/ |

A classic example of billing error on TATADOCOMO Posted: 08 Sep 2010 01:06 AM PDT I am not saying that the billing is correct, but there are ways to make this happen, Imagine Phone 1 and Phone 2 2 has call waiting activated, 1 has call conference activated(both are normally activated by default) call from 1 to 2 from 1 put 2 on hold from 1 make another call on 2, it will ring cause of call waiting at 2 put the original call on hold and receive this one Now, from 1 conference the 2 calls A possible(very unlikely) thing that could have happened is that when you thought the call dropped, it actually went on hold, and when you dialled again, the person on the other side received the new call w/o disconnecting the old one |
How to disable advertising/service message SMSs on Trump prepaid Posted: 08 Sep 2010 12:37 AM PDT I have a prepaid Trump connection in Mumbai. How can I disable receiving those annoying "Service message" SMSs? These are really annoying and spammy with most promoting MTNL's 3G service, or prompting me to "download hot bikini babes" to my phone. I receive around 5-10 such messages every day and its a pain having to delete each one as it arrives. |
