Reliance Jio today launched 4G Test Launch at IIT-Bombay Techfest. It was through Wi-Fi as compatible devices were still not available

It was data only and no voice services

They gave a presentation on Reliance jio & how 4G could be useful but did not reveal anything useful :(

ACT Broadband FUP limit

I got a new ACT broadband in the month of December. It's a 15Mbps 40GB connection.

 

Around Jan 23rd, I noticed that my internet speed dropped to 512 Kbs. I called customer support and was told that I've used my 40GB download when I challenged this, the rep raised a ticket and told me that I would get a call back with 4 hours. I got a call back after repeated calls and multiple tickets. I was finally told by someone in the tech team that there was a server mismatch because of which my speed dropped. The issue was rectified and I was back to 15Mbps browsing speed. I has the same issue around Jan 27th. I went through the same cycle and was told that there was a server mismatch again.

 

Seeing what happened in Jan, I kept a tab of how much I downloaded in Feb. My internet speed fell to 512 Kbps on the 26th. Once again I called the customer service and was told I've already crossed the broadband download limit. I found this very strange considering that I had 4 to 5 GB of download balance. In fact according to the customer care rep, I've downloaded more than 40GB. How I downloaded the additional GB's is a mystery, considering that once my broadband speed is 512Kbps, I can only browse and not download anything (this is another complaint I raised with ACT today). I'm waiting for a call back. I don't know if it'll really help because 28th is the last day of the month. If this keeps happening for 3 or 4 days every month, it'll just be a waste of my time and money. I'd rather go with a provider I can trust. 

 

I had a BSNL broadband connection before this. My biggest regret is giving up that connection to get an ACT connection. I've spent more time with ACT customer care in last 2 months than I spend with BSNL in the 8+ years I've had the connection. I've never been on the phone with them debating my broadband usage. I always got the correct amount of downloads with that connection (BSNL). I wish I had kept that connection till feb end.

The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away."

BlackBerry could launch a new smartphone at the MWC, dubbed the Z3 and the device is likely to be a mid-ranger one unlike the Z30 and the Z10, says a new report in BBIN.

According to the report, the Z3 smartphone which is being manufactured along with Foxconn could be priced between Rs 10,000-Rs 13,000. The smartphone will have a 5-inch display with a qHD resolution (540×960 pixels), a 5-megapixel primary camera and a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Internal storage s expected to be 8GB (no word about a microSD card slot) and the RAM is said to be 1 GB.

India Post to install 3000 ATMs,1.35 lakh mirco-ATMs by Sepember 15 - The Economic Times
 

Even as its application to start a commercial bank is pending, India Post has drawn a massive plan to install as many as 3,000 ATMs and 1.35 lakh micro-ATMs at the ubiquitous post offices across the country for savings account holders by September 2015, a top official has said. "We will be starting with three ATMs to be installed in New Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore on February 5 and then ramp it up gradually," postal department secretary Padmini Gopinath told a select group of reporters here over the weekend. She said 1,000 ATMs with the India Post branding will be put in within the first year, which will be ramped up massively to 3,000 in the next 18 months.


They seem to have more than 26 crore account holders!

Some recent decisions by Google has completely turned around the way guys like me looked at Blogger. Now it sports no advertis€m€nts… Google’s own adsense block is history and instead we have a cool looking bar that adds Google site search to the Blog. Other than that users get to surf around other Blogger based Blogs using the toolbar itself. Bloggers get to Blog using the BlogIt button.

And well, the new templates that were added to the Blogger services are some of the coolest skins available in free Blogging services. They now look really nice. Though it still lack some basic features like categories or community tools, it is very easy for a new user to start blogging. Google has certainly made it from something not so good into something really cool. And the fact that now users can use their own personal adsense codes… it is like paying people to Blog

Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

 

"300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

 

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, "300: Rise of an Empire." The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton ("Gangster Squad") as Themistokles and Eva Green ("Dark Shadows," "Casino Royale") as Artemisia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from "300" as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson ("Clash of the Titans") stars as Aeskylos; David Wenham returns as Dilios, and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

 

The film is directed by Noam Murro, from a screenplay by Zack Snyder & Kurt Johnstad, based on the graphic novel Xerxes, by Frank Miller. It is produced by Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Bernie Goldmann. Thomas Tull, Frank Miller, Stephen Jones and Jon Jashni serve as executive producers.

 

The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Simon Duggan, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, editor Wyatt Smith and costume designer Alexandra Byrne. The music is composed by Junkie XL.

 

"300: Rise of an Empire" will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. This film is not yet rated.

How do I configure my newly bought D-Link DSL-2730u Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router(cum modem)?

Recently, I bought a D-Link DSL-2730u Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router(i.e also modem) to connect to my Airtel broadband.

I've given up after repeated failures to connect to the Internet.
When I ran the diagnostics through 192.168.1.1 of the modem, the process is failing in the step when its connecting to the ISP. I've validated the ISP's username and password but still It gets failed there.

Though, I am getting a valid DSL signal, but after that its throwing the error 651.
I'm using Windows 7. And searched the net for all possible solutions for this error. Tried each one of it, nothing's working.

Am I configuring the Modem right?

Please assist as to what settings I must put.

Researchers in Fouchier's team used ferrets – test animals which closely mimic the human response to influenza – and transmitted H5N1 from one to another to make it more adaptable to new hosts. After 10 generations, the virus had mutated to become airborne, which means ferrets became ill from merely being near other diseased animals.


"I can't think of another pathogenic organism that is as scary as this one," Paul Keim, a microbial geneticist who has worked on anthrax for many years, told Science Insider. "I don't think anthrax is scary at all compared to this."

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's announcement that party legislators will not be considered for the parliamentary elections set off speculation on his own candidature for the Lok Sabha polls. While Kejriwal has consistently said that no decision was taken on whether he will fight LS elections, there has been considerable pressure from the party and outside to contest.
"We will not give ticket to any legislator for the Lok Sabha elections," Kejriwal said. He was speaking in response to a question on MLA Rakhi Birla's possible candidature for north-west Delhi. Though Birla's name has not been formally announced, several party members have been sitting on an indefinite hunger strike against her nomination.
Party sources said the issue was discussed in the political affairs committee on Wednesday. "There is no doubt that she is a strong candidate but we need people for Delhi also,'' a source said. The party will contest all 70 Delhi assembly seats whenever state elections are announced and would like to retain strong candidates for that.
