So what I think that it may be basically due to the RAM. So I am thinking of getting a

Not Getting 3.5G symbol nor able to connect to the net

Your nokia phone is HSPA enabled (10.6Mbps) Try downloading some data and check speed.

The problem is not with the mode, my phone is not showing a packet data connection symbol whether it is E for edge or 3.5G/H for hsdpa.
I have used Airtel GPRS before , sometimes this happens that no edge symbol is there, at that time no connection is possible as the phone has no link to packet data.
I am facing a similar problem.

my worry is whether Packet data/internet is at all activated in my 3G no.
As per as i figured from the its website there are separate plans and FRC's for mobile and data services.
Is that the problem , i only said i need a 3G sim , i did not say that i would be using it for internet.
As in ur case was the H/3.5G symbol been showed in ur cell phone from the very first time you switched on ur BSNL 3G.

I saw in some persons thread that this is a new problem and u have to go to the CSC where they will resolve it.

So will airtel stop FUp on 512k plans after TRAI redefination of BB?

Posted: 31 Dec 2010 02:34 AM PST

i think it is fairly obvious. if 512kbps is the new broadband definition, airtel and others would have to offer it as the minimum speeds on all their plans.

airtel did that when 256kbps was enforced. they would have to do the needful here again.

funny enough, if the definition was increased to 1mbps, most of us suffering from FUP would have been more or less satisfied.

i can probably work fine on a 512k connection but i am too used to 1mbps speeds.

~~~Get Ready for BSNL 14.2mbps 3g~~~
Posted: 31 Dec 2010 02:33 AM PST
No matter how much Reliance offers, never go for it, its more pathetic than BSNL service. Atleast BSNL is cheaper
Not et all excited about airtel's 3G service launch
Posted: 31 Dec 2010 02:33 AM PST
well 1400 bucks for unlimited 3G is not a bad deal after all.
in the end, this package shows the double standards and idiocy of BSNL.
they are fine providing 3G unlimited for just 700/1400 rupees. but their landline plans are infested with FUP and are whole lot more expensive.
Europe standardizes microUSB as the common charger for all mobile phones
Posted: 31 Dec 2010 02:32 AM PST
it is very easy to implement. just issue a guideline. any mobile phone that is introduced in the market after like six months should offer microusb as the charging port.
it does not have to be implemented on existing devices for obvious reasons.
How can i Use my Friend account??
Posted: 31 Dec 2010 01:55 AM PST
Quote:
@mgcarley How can i Use my Friend account?? what does indian law states about wireless internet sharing at home? :D
There's no law which states that you can't share internet at home or with another household, however:
  1. Most ISP ToS will prevent you from sharing internet with another household (usually they reserve the right to terminate the connection, as this constitutes a breach of contract to which they are no longer bound since you would have broken it), however sharing between multiple devices in your home I believe is allowed.
  2. As per nsm1234, yes, you are correct in that WiFi devices must be registered and secured. To my knowledge unsecured WiFi points may cause you to be visited by the police but frankly I've not heard of it happening - I don't think the normal police possess the necessary equipment to do that.
To answer the original question, this kind of ID-sharing would only work with a cable or ethernet connection anyway due to the way port binding works on these types of mediums and how signals are broadcast.
On the other hand, ADSL is set up in such a way that the line has to be enabled correctly for it to work (and as such, it's inherently more secure). If ADSL is not turned on and plugged in at your local exchange for your phone line, then they won't be sending the appropriate signals for your router to pick up. In other words, the ADSL light on the modem simply won't come on anyway, no matter what MAC ID you have set. As such, I would not expect you to be able to use your friends Triband ID on your own line.
Whether on an ADSL, mobile, wimax or cable connection, technically and legally speaking it would not be allowed for your friend to give you his ID to connect - nor would it be recommended for his sake. If you were to do something illegal online, then your friend would be the one to take the blame, and then after he ratted you out, you'd probably be caught up as well for bypassing security measures as well as the original crime (whether permitted by your friend or not, your friend is not the owner of the service - he is merely licensed to use it, and he is contractually bound to take whatever reasonable measures he can to secure the line from his side, this includes securing WiFi points and so forth).
I would expect most of this stuff to be written in legalese in your ISP contracts.
You should read your contracts more carefully (see below). Why do you think that some ISPs have "Single User" and "Multi User" types of accounts?
Yes, but when you rent a Broadband line from MTNL, you do not own that line - MTNL does. As such, they would NOT be consenting to such sharing.
Actually it would come under contract law. Whether there is a law in the Indian constitution about sharing Broadband (probably not), ISPs certainly have it in their terms of service, and if you break that contract, they may hold you liable for whatever they want, including but not limited to criminal or intentional damages.
Actually you don't own anything. You should read your contracts more carefully (see above).
That's a technological limitation of ADSL, not a legal issue or corporate policy.
